Narrative:

During descent into xyz in VMC we were cleared to 2000 ft. Upon leveling, approach control asked us to check our altitude and gave us the current altimeter. We reset our altimeters and corrected our altitude -- we were approximately 300 ft low. No conflicts were reported transition level was 5500 ft.

Narrative: DURING DSCNT INTO XYZ IN VMC WE WERE CLRED TO 2000 FT. UPON LEVELING, APCH CTL ASKED US TO CHK OUR ALT AND GAVE US THE CURRENT ALTIMETER. WE RESET OUR ALTIMETERS AND CORRECTED OUR ALT -- WE WERE APPROX 300 FT LOW. NO CONFLICTS WERE RPTED TRANSITION LEVEL WAS 5500 FT.
