Narrative:

Location: 80 mi north of ord. We had just leveled at FL310 when EICAS message for center hydraulic quantity came on. We checked and confirmed a leak in the center system. We ran all procedures and declared an emergency to return to ord. We dumped around 34000 pounds of fuel before landing. Crash fire rescue equipment was available and normal landing made. Aircraft was then tugged to the gate, passenger deplaned, and another aircraft obtained. Overweight landing made at 325000 pounds.

Title: FLC OF A B767 DECLARED AN EMER AND RETURNED RIGHT AFTER LEVELING OFF AT CRUISE ALT DUE TO A HYD LEAK WARNING.

Narrative: LOCATION: 80 MI N OF ORD. WE HAD JUST LEVELED AT FL310 WHEN EICAS MESSAGE FOR CTR HYD QUANTITY CAME ON. WE CHKED AND CONFIRMED A LEAK IN THE CTR SYS. WE RAN ALL PROCS AND DECLARED AN EMER TO RETURN TO ORD. WE DUMPED AROUND 34000 LBS OF FUEL BEFORE LNDG. CFR WAS AVAILABLE AND NORMAL LNDG MADE. ACFT WAS THEN TUGGED TO THE GATE, PAX DEPLANED, AND ANOTHER ACFT OBTAINED. OVERWT LNDG MADE AT 325000 LBS.
