Narrative:

On climb out from cvg, received right engine low oil pressure warning message. Ran emergency procedure and made a precautionary shutdown of the #2 engine. Declared an emergency with ATC and notified passenger of the situation. Returned to cvg safely with no further incident. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the engine was checked by company maintenance and found the oil screens were plugged with metal. The reporter said the engine was changed and sent to the manufacturer for overhaul.

Title: A CANADAIR CL65 IN CLB AT 17000 FT DECLARED AN EMER AND RETURNED TO THE FIELD DUE TO #2 ENG FLUCTUATING OIL PRESSURE CAUSED BY METAL IN THE OIL SCREEN.

Narrative: ON CLBOUT FROM CVG, RECEIVED R ENG LOW OIL PRESSURE WARNING MESSAGE. RAN EMER PROC AND MADE A PRECAUTIONARY SHUTDOWN OF THE #2 ENG. DECLARED AN EMER WITH ATC AND NOTIFIED PAX OF THE SIT. RETURNED TO CVG SAFELY WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE ENG WAS CHKED BY COMPANY MAINT AND FOUND THE OIL SCREENS WERE PLUGGED WITH METAL. THE RPTR SAID THE ENG WAS CHANGED AND SENT TO THE MANUFACTURER FOR OVERHAUL.
