Narrative:

I was involved in a sep/xa/99 airshow at syr. For part of the airshow, the airspace was split and the airshow commenced on runway 33, situated north of runway 28, while commercial operations were occurring on runway 28. The FAA monitored briefing discussed how the airspace would be opened to include the entire airport, including the airspace over runway 28, when the P51 act commenced. It was also briefed that the airshow would have complete control of the airspace from the time the P51 act commenced until the conclusion of the airshow. During this briefing, I informed the airshow controllers of my need for the entire airspace and was informed by them that the entire airspace, including the airspace over runway 28, would be available for my act. Per the airshow briefing, I departed at approximately XA00. Shortly after departure, I was cleared into the entire airspace by the airshow control. I entered the airspace as briefed, overflying runway 28 at approximately 1000 ft AGL and approximately 5000 ft down from the approach end of runway 28. As I was completing my first airshow maneuver at show center (over the numbers of runway 15, north of runway 28), the airshow controller informed me that he had cleared me into the airspace too soon and asked that I hold until the airspace was available. I saw no aircraft during my entry to the airspace and overflt of runway 28, or at any time during this time frame, although I was later informed that a B727 was on final for runway 28. I was no closer than 5000 ft horizontally and 1000 ft vertically from this aircraft, based upon the reports I received. The next day the airshow rectified the situation by ensuring the waivered airspace included that over runway 28 before clearing the P51 into the airspace.

Title: AFTER THE PLT OF A P51 STARTED HIS AIRSHOW PERFORMANCE OVER THE ARPT, HE WAS STOPPED FOR A LNDG ACR B727.

Narrative: I WAS INVOLVED IN A SEP/XA/99 AIRSHOW AT SYR. FOR PART OF THE AIRSHOW, THE AIRSPACE WAS SPLIT AND THE AIRSHOW COMMENCED ON RWY 33, SITUATED N OF RWY 28, WHILE COMMERCIAL OPS WERE OCCURRING ON RWY 28. THE FAA MONITORED BRIEFING DISCUSSED HOW THE AIRSPACE WOULD BE OPENED TO INCLUDE THE ENTIRE ARPT, INCLUDING THE AIRSPACE OVER RWY 28, WHEN THE P51 ACT COMMENCED. IT WAS ALSO BRIEFED THAT THE AIRSHOW WOULD HAVE COMPLETE CTL OF THE AIRSPACE FROM THE TIME THE P51 ACT COMMENCED UNTIL THE CONCLUSION OF THE AIRSHOW. DURING THIS BRIEFING, I INFORMED THE AIRSHOW CTLRS OF MY NEED FOR THE ENTIRE AIRSPACE AND WAS INFORMED BY THEM THAT THE ENTIRE AIRSPACE, INCLUDING THE AIRSPACE OVER RWY 28, WOULD BE AVAILABLE FOR MY ACT. PER THE AIRSHOW BRIEFING, I DEPARTED AT APPROX XA00. SHORTLY AFTER DEP, I WAS CLRED INTO THE ENTIRE AIRSPACE BY THE AIRSHOW CTL. I ENTERED THE AIRSPACE AS BRIEFED, OVERFLYING RWY 28 AT APPROX 1000 FT AGL AND APPROX 5000 FT DOWN FROM THE APCH END OF RWY 28. AS I WAS COMPLETING MY FIRST AIRSHOW MANEUVER AT SHOW CTR (OVER THE NUMBERS OF RWY 15, N OF RWY 28), THE AIRSHOW CTLR INFORMED ME THAT HE HAD CLRED ME INTO THE AIRSPACE TOO SOON AND ASKED THAT I HOLD UNTIL THE AIRSPACE WAS AVAILABLE. I SAW NO ACFT DURING MY ENTRY TO THE AIRSPACE AND OVERFLT OF RWY 28, OR AT ANY TIME DURING THIS TIME FRAME, ALTHOUGH I WAS LATER INFORMED THAT A B727 WAS ON FINAL FOR RWY 28. I WAS NO CLOSER THAN 5000 FT HORIZLY AND 1000 FT VERTLY FROM THIS ACFT, BASED UPON THE RPTS I RECEIVED. THE NEXT DAY THE AIRSHOW RECTIFIED THE SIT BY ENSURING THE WAIVERED AIRSPACE INCLUDED THAT OVER RWY 28 BEFORE CLRING THE P51 INTO THE AIRSPACE.
