Narrative:
Departed cak class C airspace VFR with flight following, using GPS as 1 degree navigation. Given vectors north for traffic by departure. This took my course through the outer ring of cle class B airspace, the limits of which are 8000 ft/4000 ft. My altitude was 4500 ft MSL. My GPS did not display the same number of rings as the chart indicated. It is a new addition to my panel (4 weeks) and by the time I confirmed my position on the ground, I was within the class B airspace. Approach control had been continuously updated on my 'on course' heading interspersed with their 'vectors for traffic.' at no time did they say 'cleared through the class B airspace.' I made no comment as to my being inside the class B airspace and neither did approach. The flight was otherwise uneventful.
