Narrative:

Taxi in to air carrier ramp at ewr to park at gate abc. Construction abeam gate bcd. B737 parked at gate bcd appeared to have enough room but wingtip hit a dump truck. Bright construction lights overshadowed taxi area causing perception problem. 13 1/2 hour duty day, no guide man, ramp had construction for several weeks and was not a problem before. Felt bump and shudder on contact. Should have had a guide person.

Narrative: TAXI IN TO ACR RAMP AT EWR TO PARK AT GATE ABC. CONSTRUCTION ABEAM GATE BCD. B737 PARKED AT GATE BCD APPEARED TO HAVE ENOUGH ROOM BUT WINGTIP HIT A DUMP TRUCK. BRIGHT CONSTRUCTION LIGHTS OVERSHADOWED TAXI AREA CAUSING PERCEPTION PROB. 13 1/2 HR DUTY DAY, NO GUIDE MAN, RAMP HAD CONSTRUCTION FOR SEVERAL WKS AND WAS NOT A PROB BEFORE.
