Narrative:
Flight check 70 mi en route from st pauls, ak, FL250, told to descend and contact zan 70 mi west of cold bay. Initial contact 118.5 we were given instruction to descend to 5000 ft and cleared to elfee NDB, cleared for approach. Frequency change to kenai radio. Check in kenai radio, advised cancellation of IFR. Continued descent to procedure altitude. Kenai called and said zan said climb immediately to 5000 ft. We advised were VFR and field in sight at 15 DME and requested confirm cancellation of IFR flight with acknowledgement. Landed without incident.

INITIAL CONTACT 118.5 WE WERE GIVEN INSTRUCTION TO DSND TO 5000 FT AND CLRED TO ELFEE NDB, CLRED FOR APCH. FREQ CHANGE TO KENAI RADIO. CHK IN KENAI RADIO, ADVISED CANCELLATION OF IFR. CONTINUED DSCNT TO PROC ALT. KENAI CALLED AND SAID ZAN SAID CLB IMMEDIATELY TO 5000 FT. WE ADVISED WERE VFR AND FIELD IN SIGHT AT 15 DME AND REQUESTED CONFIRM CANCELLATION OF IFR FLT WITH ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT.
