Narrative:

Arrival into den, vectored to runway 16 for visual landing on approximately 3 mi final, told to switch to tower. Made frequency change just as we got a GS warning due to runway 16 GS notamed out of service. With that distraction and a close-in final approach, we landed, possibly, without tower clearance. We were the only aircraft on the approach frequency and never heard any other aircraft on the frequency. Upon landing, I switched to ground control frequency, flipped the selector switch, and contacted ground for taxi instructions to the gate. Throughout the final approach, landing and rollout, no one contacted us. After taxiing in to the ramp, neither the first officer or I could remember whether or not we had actually called the tower. Even with our SOP's for callouts at 1000 ft AGL, one of our confirmations is that we are 'cleared to land' which we both confirmed. Possibly the lack of any radio 'chatter' can be as much of a distraction as too much noise on the frequency or 'in cockpit' distrs as well!

Title: ACR FLC WORRIES THEY WERE DISTR AND LANDED WITHOUT CLRNC.

Narrative: ARR INTO DEN, VECTORED TO RWY 16 FOR VISUAL LNDG ON APPROX 3 MI FINAL, TOLD TO SWITCH TO TWR. MADE FREQ CHANGE JUST AS WE GOT A GS WARNING DUE TO RWY 16 GS NOTAMED OUT OF SVC. WITH THAT DISTR AND A CLOSE-IN FINAL APCH, WE LANDED, POSSIBLY, WITHOUT TWR CLRNC. WE WERE THE ONLY ACFT ON THE APCH FREQ AND NEVER HEARD ANY OTHER ACFT ON THE FREQ. UPON LNDG, I SWITCHED TO GND CTL FREQ, FLIPPED THE SELECTOR SWITCH, AND CONTACTED GND FOR TAXI INSTRUCTIONS TO THE GATE. THROUGHOUT THE FINAL APCH, LNDG AND ROLLOUT, NO ONE CONTACTED US. AFTER TAXIING IN TO THE RAMP, NEITHER THE FO OR I COULD REMEMBER WHETHER OR NOT WE HAD ACTUALLY CALLED THE TWR. EVEN WITH OUR SOP'S FOR CALLOUTS AT 1000 FT AGL, ONE OF OUR CONFIRMATIONS IS THAT WE ARE 'CLRED TO LAND' WHICH WE BOTH CONFIRMED. POSSIBLY THE LACK OF ANY RADIO 'CHATTER' CAN BE AS MUCH OF A DISTR AS TOO MUCH NOISE ON THE FREQ OR 'IN COCKPIT' DISTRS AS WELL!
