Narrative:

While taxiing in the ramp, the aircraft guide held her arms up to indicate final stopping point of aircraft that I was commanding. However, she made no attempt to indicate which way she wanted me to turn into the parking spot. Since no direction was given, I elected to keep the guide on the left (captain's) side of the aircraft. When turning the aircraft 180 degrees to meet her, visual contact was lost. I elected to stop the aircraft there since visual contact was no longer maintained. After stopping the aircraft, I (the captain) exited 1 passenger and scouted the ramp noticing nothing out of the ordinary. After this, I closed up the cabin door and proceeded to taxi to the active runway. The crew (ground crew) at the FBO called my home office to complain about my taxi procedures. My thoughts are that more education on the aim, and ground handling of aircraft would have solved the problem. The event occurred at vld.

Title: CAPT OF A LEARJET 35 TAXIED TO AN FBO RAMP AREA AND STOPPED TO DEPLANE A PAX WHILE AN FBO RAMP GUIDING PERSON WAS ATTEMPTING TO INDICATE A RAMP PARKING SPOT. LATER THE CAPT LEARNED THAT THE FBO CALLED HOME OFFICE AND COMPLAINED ABOUT HIS TAXI PROCS.

Narrative: WHILE TAXIING IN THE RAMP, THE ACFT GUIDE HELD HER ARMS UP TO INDICATE FINAL STOPPING POINT OF ACFT THAT I WAS COMMANDING. HOWEVER, SHE MADE NO ATTEMPT TO INDICATE WHICH WAY SHE WANTED ME TO TURN INTO THE PARKING SPOT. SINCE NO DIRECTION WAS GIVEN, I ELECTED TO KEEP THE GUIDE ON THE L (CAPT'S) SIDE OF THE ACFT. WHEN TURNING THE ACFT 180 DEGS TO MEET HER, VISUAL CONTACT WAS LOST. I ELECTED TO STOP THE ACFT THERE SINCE VISUAL CONTACT WAS NO LONGER MAINTAINED. AFTER STOPPING THE ACFT, I (THE CAPT) EXITED 1 PAX AND SCOUTED THE RAMP NOTICING NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY. AFTER THIS, I CLOSED UP THE CABIN DOOR AND PROCEEDED TO TAXI TO THE ACTIVE RWY. THE CREW (GND CREW) AT THE FBO CALLED MY HOME OFFICE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT MY TAXI PROCS. MY THOUGHTS ARE THAT MORE EDUCATION ON THE AIM, AND GND HANDLING OF ACFT WOULD HAVE SOLVED THE PROB. THE EVENT OCCURRED AT VLD.
