Narrative:

Logbook review. After reviewing both the logbook and MEL for a lower rudder indicator problem (placarded inoperative), captain, first officer, and flight engineer satisfied that all checks were complete. In-flight logbook was reviewed again and it was discovered that the check of rudder movement (prior to each flight per MEL) had not been accomplished for our flight.
