Narrative:

Received a GPWS warning of terrain and to immediately climb. We were on course at glide path intercept altitude or above. I immediately added maximum power, climbed and checked the speed brake stowed. The warning did not stop even with a high rate of climb, so I turned left to move out over the water. The warning soon stopped. I'd been warned regarding a small hill on approach that may set off the GPWS at times. Without knowing the true cause of the warning, I initiated a climb. When it didn't stop, I felt a turn toward the beach was necessary. We advised zan and climbed out to intercept the arc back in without incident.
