Narrative:

A passenger struck a fellow flight attendant during the meal service, because she asked the passenger to discontinue shaking the passenger seat in front of him, which was occupied by a female passenger. No auths were called to the aircraft upon landing. The captain and flight attendant #1 spoke to passenger, but no auths were notified. The passenger did not hurt flight attendant #9, but he did strike her in the face. Passenger was able to continue his travels with no repercussions. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter said that the incident happened because a woman had reclined her seat back in order to feed her baby. The man sitting in back of her didn't like it, so he started shaking her seat. She calmly told him that she would put her seat back up when she finished feeding her baby. This made him madder, so he shook the seat even more. The woman called the flight attendant (that was slapped) over, to tell her to ask the man to quit shaking her seat. The flight attendant said if she actually saw him do it, she would tell him to stop. A min later, the flight attendant observed him shaking the seat, and told him to stop -- that's when he hit the flight attendant. She was in a state of shock that he would actually hit her, but she would not press charges against him, despite the urging of the purser and captain, as well as the other flight attendants. The captain came back and talked to the man and told him that if he heard another 'peep' out of him, he would land at the nearest airport and have him removed. The passenger was well behaved after that. The victim refused to press charges, probably 'because she was a commuter and didn't want to miss her flight.' the reporter said that their union told them to all file a report with them and the ASRS.

Title: FLT ATTENDANT RPT, B767-300, ORY-MIA, PAX SLAPPED FLT ATTENDANT WHO REFUSED TO PRESS CHARGES.

Narrative: A PAX STRUCK A FELLOW FLT ATTENDANT DURING THE MEAL SVC, BECAUSE SHE ASKED THE PAX TO DISCONTINUE SHAKING THE PAX SEAT IN FRONT OF HIM, WHICH WAS OCCUPIED BY A FEMALE PAX. NO AUTHS WERE CALLED TO THE ACFT UPON LNDG. THE CAPT AND FLT ATTENDANT #1 SPOKE TO PAX, BUT NO AUTHS WERE NOTIFIED. THE PAX DID NOT HURT FLT ATTENDANT #9, BUT HE DID STRIKE HER IN THE FACE. PAX WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE HIS TRAVELS WITH NO REPERCUSSIONS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR SAID THAT THE INCIDENT HAPPENED BECAUSE A WOMAN HAD RECLINED HER SEAT BACK IN ORDER TO FEED HER BABY. THE WOMAN CALLED THE FLT ATTENDANT (THAT WAS SLAPPED) OVER, TO TELL HER TO ASK THE MAN TO QUIT SHAKING HER SEAT. THE FLT ATTENDANT SAID IF SHE ACTUALLY SAW HIM DO IT, SHE WOULD TELL HIM TO STOP. A MIN LATER, THE FLT ATTENDANT OBSERVED HIM SHAKING THE SEAT, AND TOLD HIM TO STOP -- THAT'S WHEN HE HIT THE FLT ATTENDANT. SHE WAS IN A STATE OF SHOCK THAT HE WOULD ACTUALLY HIT HER, BUT SHE WOULD NOT PRESS CHARGES AGAINST HIM, DESPITE THE URGING OF THE PURSER AND CAPT, AS WELL AS THE OTHER FLT ATTENDANTS. THE CAPT CAME BACK AND TALKED TO THE MAN AND TOLD HIM THAT IF HE HEARD ANOTHER 'PEEP' OUT OF HIM, HE WOULD LAND AT THE NEAREST ARPT AND HAVE HIM REMOVED. THE PAX WAS WELL BEHAVED AFTER THAT. THE VICTIM REFUSED TO PRESS CHARGES, PROBABLY 'BECAUSE SHE WAS A COMMUTER AND DIDN'T WANT TO MISS HER FLT.' THE RPTR SAID THAT THEIR UNION TOLD THEM TO ALL FILE A RPT WITH THEM AND THE ASRS.
