Narrative:

There was no smoke, just a strong odor of electrical burning wire. I noticed the monitor (video), #4, was still illuminated, while the others were off. Passenger in that area said it was not working during the showing of the safety video. The smell remained in the cabin the entire flight, however, not as strong. Passenger in first class and forward main cabin coughed and requested water throughout the flight. I experienced a dry throat as well.

Title: FLT ATTENDANT RPT, B757, SJU-ORD, ELECTRICAL FIRE SMELL NEAR AFT VIDEO MONITOR. PAX AND CREW HAD DRY, SORE THROATS. PROB NOT RESOLVED.

Narrative: THERE WAS NO SMOKE, JUST A STRONG ODOR OF ELECTRICAL BURNING WIRE. I NOTICED THE MONITOR (VIDEO), #4, WAS STILL ILLUMINATED, WHILE THE OTHERS WERE OFF. PAX IN THAT AREA SAID IT WAS NOT WORKING DURING THE SHOWING OF THE SAFETY VIDEO. THE SMELL REMAINED IN THE CABIN THE ENTIRE FLT, HOWEVER, NOT AS STRONG. PAX IN FIRST CLASS AND FORWARD MAIN CABIN COUGHED AND REQUESTED WATER THROUGHOUT THE FLT. I EXPERIENCED A DRY THROAT AS WELL.
