Narrative:
Controller gave us heading 330 degrees and climb to 14000 ft. We had departed pdk approximately 3 mins earlier. While climbing through 10500 ft, controller advised us to stop at 11000 ft because of traffic. (I saw an airliner at 11 O'clock and 2-3 mi out at a slightly higher altitude than us.) then, very quickly, the controller said descend to 10000 ft, which I did immediately.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A HAWKER 1000 FLC WAS GIVEN A DSCNT CLRNC FOR TFC, DEPARTING ATL.
Narrative: CTLR GAVE US HDG 330 DEGS AND CLB TO 14000 FT. WE HAD DEPARTED PDK APPROX 3 MINS EARLIER. WHILE CLBING THROUGH 10500 FT, CTLR ADVISED US TO STOP AT 11000 FT BECAUSE OF TFC. (I SAW AN AIRLINER AT 11 O'CLOCK AND 2-3 MI OUT AT A SLIGHTLY HIGHER ALT THAN US.) THEN, VERY QUICKLY, THE CTLR SAID DSND TO 10000 FT, WHICH I DID IMMEDIATELY.
