Narrative:

At around XA00 pm, after landing on runway 24L at lax, we exited the runway. I called ground control a couple of times -- no answer. I left the ground control frequency to go over to company frequency. The captain assumed we were clear to taxi -- we were not. I assumed he got the clearance. At chkpoint #2, after calling south ground control 3 times, we decided to taxi directly to the gate to avoid to stop and block taxiway south, since the gate is located before taxiway C (the hold short point). Next time, better communication in the cockpit will be used and leaving a frequency before obtaining a clearance will be avoided.

Title: SF34 CREW TAXIED TO GATE WITHOUT TAXI CLRNC.

Narrative: AT AROUND XA00 PM, AFTER LNDG ON RWY 24L AT LAX, WE EXITED THE RWY. I CALLED GND CTL A COUPLE OF TIMES -- NO ANSWER. I LEFT THE GND CTL FREQ TO GO OVER TO COMPANY FREQ. THE CAPT ASSUMED WE WERE CLR TO TAXI -- WE WERE NOT. I ASSUMED HE GOT THE CLRNC. AT CHKPOINT #2, AFTER CALLING S GND CTL 3 TIMES, WE DECIDED TO TAXI DIRECTLY TO THE GATE TO AVOID TO STOP AND BLOCK TXWY S, SINCE THE GATE IS LOCATED BEFORE TXWY C (THE HOLD SHORT POINT). NEXT TIME, BETTER COM IN THE COCKPIT WILL BE USED AND LEAVING A FREQ BEFORE OBTAINING A CLRNC WILL BE AVOIDED.
