Narrative:

A passenger onboard flight from mem to lax jul/xa/99, advised flight attendant he was not feeling well. Medical help was requested from doctor or nurse volunteer. 2 nurses volunteered, and clinic called. After medical consultation with nurses and clinic, crew advised situation critical and life threatening and an immediate landing was requested. We were approximately 40 NM east of abq and coordinated for destination change to land at abq. Crew declared medical emergency. Landing was very smooth and uneventful. However this did require an overweight landing as the A320 has no fuel dump system. As a result of landing approximately 2700 pounds overweight, the field elevation of 5352 ft, with a temperature approximately 22 degrees C, 1 brake did overheat causing a fuse plug to let go while parked at the gate. Logbook entries were made as to overweight landing and tire/brake, and all company and required FAA procedures were accomplished.
