Climbing from FL310-FL350. At approximately FL325 compressor stall on #2 engine with overtemp on egt. Because of overtemp engine was shut down. No restart attempted. Flight descended to FL240 and diverted to msp for maintenance. No emergency declared. Diversion into msp was uneventful. Supplemental information from acn 442757: no secondary indications or damage, so determined to go to msp due to operational requirements.
