Narrative:

I was flying, the copilot was talking to ZHN. ZHN gave us a heading of 095 degrees after passing lny VOR. They then proceeded to talk to other aircraft and forgot to hand us off to maui approach. The copilot asked ZHN for a handoff to maui. When he spoke with maui approach, they said we had flown through the localizer for runway 2, then proceeded to give us vectors for the approach.

Title: A DC9-50 CREW FLIES THROUGH THE LOC OF OGG WHEN ZHN CTLR FORGETS TO ISSUE INTERCEPT CLRNC OR EFFECT A HDOF TO OGG APCH CTL, 15 MI SW OF OGG, HI.

Narrative: I WAS FLYING, THE COPLT WAS TALKING TO ZHN. ZHN GAVE US A HDG OF 095 DEGS AFTER PASSING LNY VOR. THEY THEN PROCEEDED TO TALK TO OTHER ACFT AND FORGOT TO HAND US OFF TO MAUI APCH. THE COPLT ASKED ZHN FOR A HDOF TO MAUI. WHEN HE SPOKE WITH MAUI APCH, THEY SAID WE HAD FLOWN THROUGH THE LOC FOR RWY 2, THEN PROCEEDED TO GIVE US VECTORS FOR THE APCH.
