Narrative:

Departed phl, and on climb out passing FL180, left engine overheat light came on on EICAS and the control stand. The left throttle retarded to idle, and left engine bleed valve closed following the checklist, and after 4 mins, the light went out. We left the left engine running at idle, as a backup, and the left engine overheat light remained out through landing and taxi back. A heavy weight landing was made at 214000 pounds and a sink rate of 100 FPM. Maximum for the B757 is 198000 pounds.
