Narrative:

After receiving IFR clearance from ground, I forgot to get clearance to taxi to runway. After runup, I called tower for departure and was cleared to take off. There was no conflict with other aircraft, but I was questioned by tower if I had taxi clearance when on ground roll for takeoff. At this point there was no corrective action. This was a mental mistake that can be corrected by more closely following a preflight checklist. Ground control never contacted me on taxi. I was on ground frequency.
