Narrative:

I was doing preflight paperwork at the gate, when the ramp agent handed me the bag slip. I used the bag slip information totals to complete the manifest as usual. I completed my paperwork and departed the gate. After airborne, we called in our out and off times into operations. At that time the agent informed us she had extended the totals incorrectly, ie, the sketch (graphic) the 8 and 1 equal 9 checked bags and the 11 represents the total number of carry-on bags. She extended the 11 carry-on bags as 19. I used 19 and 9 to equal 28 bags. There really was only 9 and 11 bags equaling 20 bags. When I was informed of the error I checked right then to see if our center of gravity was still in the envelope. It was inside the envelope so we continued to avp normally and when we landed in avp I got off the airplane and called dispatch to notify them of the error. Later that night I filled out an occurrence report and contacted our airline pilot committee. They instructed me to send the report in to the company in the morning -- which I did. Our chief pilot was informed shortly after the occurrence by our dispatcher and the chief pilot agreed to having me submit the occurrence report to him in the morning. I believe it was an honest mistake by the ramp agent. I don't know what to advise to correct the mistake.

Title: ERRONEOUS WT AND BAL INFO PROVIDED TO FLC OF LTT AT BOS.

Narrative: I WAS DOING PREFLT PAPERWORK AT THE GATE, WHEN THE RAMP AGENT HANDED ME THE BAG SLIP. I USED THE BAG SLIP INFO TOTALS TO COMPLETE THE MANIFEST AS USUAL. I COMPLETED MY PAPERWORK AND DEPARTED THE GATE. AFTER AIRBORNE, WE CALLED IN OUR OUT AND OFF TIMES INTO OPS. AT THAT TIME THE AGENT INFORMED US SHE HAD EXTENDED THE TOTALS INCORRECTLY, IE, THE SKETCH (GRAPHIC) THE 8 AND 1 EQUAL 9 CHKED BAGS AND THE 11 REPRESENTS THE TOTAL NUMBER OF CARRY-ON BAGS. SHE EXTENDED THE 11 CARRY-ON BAGS AS 19. I USED 19 AND 9 TO EQUAL 28 BAGS. THERE REALLY WAS ONLY 9 AND 11 BAGS EQUALING 20 BAGS. WHEN I WAS INFORMED OF THE ERROR I CHKED RIGHT THEN TO SEE IF OUR CTR OF GRAVITY WAS STILL IN THE ENVELOPE. IT WAS INSIDE THE ENVELOPE SO WE CONTINUED TO AVP NORMALLY AND WHEN WE LANDED IN AVP I GOT OFF THE AIRPLANE AND CALLED DISPATCH TO NOTIFY THEM OF THE ERROR. LATER THAT NIGHT I FILLED OUT AN OCCURRENCE RPT AND CONTACTED OUR AIRLINE PLT COMMITTEE. THEY INSTRUCTED ME TO SEND THE RPT IN TO THE COMPANY IN THE MORNING -- WHICH I DID. OUR CHIEF PLT WAS INFORMED SHORTLY AFTER THE OCCURRENCE BY OUR DISPATCHER AND THE CHIEF PLT AGREED TO HAVING ME SUBMIT THE OCCURRENCE RPT TO HIM IN THE MORNING. I BELIEVE IT WAS AN HONEST MISTAKE BY THE RAMP AGENT. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO ADVISE TO CORRECT THE MISTAKE.
