Narrative:

Location; 50 mi southeast of irw. Clearance to intercept 101 degree radial inbound to bowie. Input 190 degrees off of byp. Asked heading by ATC. On wrong heading for intercept. No traffic alerts. Asked for heading to intercept and input correct data in FMS. This occurred after 2 changes to departure clearance and 2 changes after departure. Flow control could do better job by getting clrncs right first time. When making for changes to FMS before FL180 to comply with clearance, increases workload to point where mistakes can happen.
