Narrative:

We landed runway 4R at bos, made a left turn off the runway at runway 33R, as instructed, to hold short of runway 4L. Switched to runway 4L tower frequency, held short at hold short line, waiting for clearance to cross. Tower gave us clearance to cross, adding 'no delay' to clearance. I knew other aircraft were right behind us holding also, so I tried to keep thrust to 'breakaway' maximum (40% N2). Aircraft was slow to move initially. I added more thrust than I wanted to, but I had to get the plane moving without delay. We started rolling, picking up speed quickly, and I heard some smart aleck comment about 'if you can't give me what I want, just hold short.' the copilot asked if that was for us (we didn't catch a call sign initially). He said to hold short, but we were now across the hold line. He mentioned we were past hold line but we were to hold where we were that we were 'ok' sitting there. He then continued to land and takeoff commuter type aircraft from runway 4L with us sitting there -- clear of runway, but past the hold line. If they had been larger aircraft using runway 4L, I would not have been comfortable where we sat. I think the controller made a mistake, and wanted the blame on me (sounded as if he was training). The cfm-56 engines take a second or 2 to spool -- we don't move instantly. I wasn't about to use takeoff thrust to get moving. ATC needs to be more aware that heavy jets will be slow to respond initially and take that into account. This was a nice day, nice WX and no near collision happened. However, bos -- with all the runway xings, frequency changes, etc -- is an accident waiting.

Title: PLT INSTRUCTED TO STOP AFTER MOVING ACROSS THE HOLD LINE. CTLR THEN CONTINUED TO USE RWY FOR LNDGS AND TKOFS.

Narrative: WE LANDED RWY 4R AT BOS, MADE A L TURN OFF THE RWY AT RWY 33R, AS INSTRUCTED, TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 4L. SWITCHED TO RWY 4L TWR FREQ, HELD SHORT AT HOLD SHORT LINE, WAITING FOR CLRNC TO CROSS. TWR GAVE US CLRNC TO CROSS, ADDING 'NO DELAY' TO CLRNC. I KNEW OTHER ACFT WERE RIGHT BEHIND US HOLDING ALSO, SO I TRIED TO KEEP THRUST TO 'BREAKAWAY' MAX (40% N2). ACFT WAS SLOW TO MOVE INITIALLY. I ADDED MORE THRUST THAN I WANTED TO, BUT I HAD TO GET THE PLANE MOVING WITHOUT DELAY. WE STARTED ROLLING, PICKING UP SPD QUICKLY, AND I HEARD SOME SMART ALECK COMMENT ABOUT 'IF YOU CAN'T GIVE ME WHAT I WANT, JUST HOLD SHORT.' THE COPLT ASKED IF THAT WAS FOR US (WE DIDN'T CATCH A CALL SIGN INITIALLY). HE SAID TO HOLD SHORT, BUT WE WERE NOW ACROSS THE HOLD LINE. HE MENTIONED WE WERE PAST HOLD LINE BUT WE WERE TO HOLD WHERE WE WERE THAT WE WERE 'OK' SITTING THERE. HE THEN CONTINUED TO LAND AND TKOF COMMUTER TYPE ACFT FROM RWY 4L WITH US SITTING THERE -- CLR OF RWY, BUT PAST THE HOLD LINE. IF THEY HAD BEEN LARGER ACFT USING RWY 4L, I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN COMFORTABLE WHERE WE SAT. I THINK THE CTLR MADE A MISTAKE, AND WANTED THE BLAME ON ME (SOUNDED AS IF HE WAS TRAINING). THE CFM-56 ENGS TAKE A SECOND OR 2 TO SPOOL -- WE DON'T MOVE INSTANTLY. I WASN'T ABOUT TO USE TKOF THRUST TO GET MOVING. ATC NEEDS TO BE MORE AWARE THAT HVY JETS WILL BE SLOW TO RESPOND INITIALLY AND TAKE THAT INTO ACCOUNT. THIS WAS A NICE DAY, NICE WX AND NO NEAR COLLISION HAPPENED. HOWEVER, BOS -- WITH ALL THE RWY XINGS, FREQ CHANGES, ETC -- IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING.
