Narrative:

Approximately 50 mi east of 55n10w, we were instructed by scottish control to increase our speed from assigned mach .84 to maximum (85.5) due to nearness of an aircraft behind us. Crossing 10 mi west, I did not reduce to mach .84 (oceanic clearance speed) as I believed the speed increase to be coordinated with shanwick. At 20 mi west, I requested a speed reduction to mach .84 from shanwick oceanic and they knew nothing of our mach 85.5 speed. I was told to reduce immediately to mach .84 as assigned. Apparently there was a communication failure between scottish control, shanwick oceanic, and our flight.

Title: AFTER THE FLC OF A WDB WERE REQUESTED BY ATC TO INCREASE SPD FOR TFC SEPARATION, THEY FOUND THAT THE SUBSEQUENT ATC CTR KNEW NOTHING OF THE INCREASE WHEN THEY ASKED TO GO BACK TO THE SLOWER SPD.

Narrative: APPROX 50 MI E OF 55N10W, WE WERE INSTRUCTED BY SCOTTISH CTL TO INCREASE OUR SPD FROM ASSIGNED MACH .84 TO MAX (85.5) DUE TO NEARNESS OF AN ACFT BEHIND US. XING 10 MI W, I DID NOT REDUCE TO MACH .84 (OCEANIC CLRNC SPD) AS I BELIEVED THE SPD INCREASE TO BE COORDINATED WITH SHANWICK. AT 20 MI W, I REQUESTED A SPD REDUCTION TO MACH .84 FROM SHANWICK OCEANIC AND THEY KNEW NOTHING OF OUR MACH 85.5 SPD. I WAS TOLD TO REDUCE IMMEDIATELY TO MACH .84 AS ASSIGNED. APPARENTLY THERE WAS A COM FAILURE BTWN SCOTTISH CTL, SHANWICK OCEANIC, AND OUR FLT.
