Passenger in seat xx stood up and demanded to deplane while on a taxi runway prior to takeoff. We (flight attendants #2 and #4) questioned why, he replied, 'no reason, just want to get off.' we noticed the strong smell of alcohol breath. #2 flight attendant informed the captain after a second demand to deplane. We noticed while taxiing that he was loud and rude to passenger next to him and made remarks such as 'freedom of speech.' captain decided to return to gate. The agent came on to remove passenger.
