Narrative:

On returning from the bahamas (walkers cay), I was informed I had violated federal laws by united states customs at ft pierce. The aircraft n-number was on a pink temporary registration certificate and the registration numbers on the aircraft were too small. Before leaving the united states, I had checked for all relevant documentation in the aircraft and had found a recent (white) registration certificate but not the pink slip. This had been somewhat crushed to the back of the folder by the other documents. The aircraft had recently been acquired by the flight school in georgia from whom I rented the aircraft. I am now fully aware of the regulations and will be more thorough next time.
