First officer got clearance from roa and was assigned 220 degree heading. ATIS was broadcasting a dixie departure procedure. First officer was new and low time/experience, told captain to fly dixie departure. This was briefed by captain prior to takeoff. After takeoff, flew dixie departure out lda course. Told by tower to fly 220 degree heading. Turned to 220 degree heading and continued on course. Airline has high attention rate and no experienced pilots will apply here.
