Narrative:

Passenger 'appeared' to be highly intoxicated. He disturbed other passenger around him during seating on pre-departure. He was reported to us by other passenger in the coach cabin. Possible future solutions: ground people (ticket agents, gate agents) to be more aware of these types of conditions. This passenger should not have made it as far into the boarding process and onto the plane. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the analyst learned that the intoxicated passenger sat in back of the DC10, and practically held the passenger and the aft galley flight attendant hostage to his drunken actions. The reporter was called to the back by the aft galley flight attendant, who was busy setting up the galley. She was afraid to be alone with the passenger. When the reporter came back to help her, the drunk was harassing the children of a family of 4. The flight attendant moved the family to door xx, until the drunk could be taken off. The captain did have passenger service remove him, but on the jetway, the passenger started shoving the agent. The agent called the police, who hand cuffed the guy and took him away. The police found a whole list of 'priors' on the man. The reporter also stated that his airline has specific training for flight attendants on dealing with intoxicated and belligerent drunks. He, also, wants the same training for the ground agents.
