Narrative:
Flying B737-500. During preflight of FMC/CDU, noticed a difference in the confign of CDU displays, ie, it appeared to mimic the B737-700 display. As we are currently flying 700's I assumed this was a new program designed to standardize our fleet. I mentioned the difference to my captain and he agreed with me. We flew 5 legs in that aircraft without incident.
