Narrative:

We were cleared to cross bean intersection at 16000 ft. Autoplt failed to capture altitude. We failed to notice that the aircraft was not leveling until after we went through 16000 ft, first officer climbed the aircraft back to 16000 ft. Now when the 1000 ft call is made I keep my finger on the trim switch until the aircraft has leveled off at the appropriate altitude.
