Narrative:

Flight between atl and bos. Flight normal in all respects. Tight traffic spacing. Bug speed 130 KTS +20 KTS for wind gust. First officer flying. Approach normal, ie, on speed, on GS, 800 ft descent rate. First officer delayed flare maneuver resulting in firm landing. So noticed tailskid light on rollout. Maintenance inspection revealed tailskid compression approximately 3/8 inches. No other indication of damage.
