Narrative:

Shortly after takeoff the captain said he was concerned about an aircraft on our takeoff heading. He told me to shallow out my climb. I did so based on his visual contact with the other aircraft. Shortly after this we got an RA from TCASII to descend. I followed the RA, then got a 'monitor vertical speed.' followed shortly by 'clear of conflict.' we recovered and resumed normal flight.
