Narrative:

Landed runway 35R den. While in reverse, tower said to turn off at taxiway P7. I turned off at taxiway P7 and proceeded to taxiway ec. Ground stated we should have stayed north taxiway P7 but now proceed on taxiway C, hold short of runway 35L at taxiway ec and contact den tower for crossing clearance. Approaching runway 35L up a hill, I did not see any hold short line or signage for runway 35L. At top of hill while going very slow, all of a sudden I was right at runway 35L. I applied brakes but I'm sure I was across hold short line, but not on the runway. At the same time tower cleared us across runway 35L, and to the gate. No conflicts occurred, although I was very concerned about the runway appearing at the top of the crest and the fact I did not see any hold lines or signage. I do not believe my nose was into the runway, but this particular taxi route at den could be a trap, especially at night. I certainly hope I just overlooked the hold line and signage. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states that he is on a new aircraft and this was his first landing at den and it was at night. Apparently the facility does not use taxiway ec from the direction he was taxiing very often. He feels they still must have a hold short line at runway 35L. What the controller expected was for him to remain on taxiway P7 and continue taxi to taxiway ed. That way the aircraft does not have to cross any runway getting to the ramp. Neither his first officer nor the jump seat rider saw any hold line either. The tower must not have felt he was onto the runway as nothing was said. His main concern is whether there is a hold line or not. If not, there should be, but he is concerned that others might make the same mistake.

Title: FLC OF AN A320 TAXIES ONTO CORRECT TXWY BUT MAKES A JOG ONTO A DIFFERENT TXWY. AFTER STOPPING THE ACFT HE IS GIVEN NEW CLRNC TO HOLD AT RWY 35L. HE AGAIN STOPS WHEN HE REALIZES THAT HE IS ABOUT TO ENTER THE RWY. NONE OF 3 COCKPIT OCCUPANTS SAW A HOLD LINE.

Narrative: LANDED RWY 35R DEN. WHILE IN REVERSE, TWR SAID TO TURN OFF AT TXWY P7. I TURNED OFF AT TXWY P7 AND PROCEEDED TO TXWY EC. GND STATED WE SHOULD HAVE STAYED N TXWY P7 BUT NOW PROCEED ON TXWY C, HOLD SHORT OF RWY 35L AT TXWY EC AND CONTACT DEN TWR FOR XING CLRNC. APCHING RWY 35L UP A HILL, I DID NOT SEE ANY HOLD SHORT LINE OR SIGNAGE FOR RWY 35L. AT TOP OF HILL WHILE GOING VERY SLOW, ALL OF A SUDDEN I WAS RIGHT AT RWY 35L. I APPLIED BRAKES BUT I'M SURE I WAS ACROSS HOLD SHORT LINE, BUT NOT ON THE RWY. AT THE SAME TIME TWR CLRED US ACROSS RWY 35L, AND TO THE GATE. NO CONFLICTS OCCURRED, ALTHOUGH I WAS VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE RWY APPEARING AT THE TOP OF THE CREST AND THE FACT I DID NOT SEE ANY HOLD LINES OR SIGNAGE. I DO NOT BELIEVE MY NOSE WAS INTO THE RWY, BUT THIS PARTICULAR TAXI RTE AT DEN COULD BE A TRAP, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. I CERTAINLY HOPE I JUST OVERLOOKED THE HOLD LINE AND SIGNAGE. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THAT HE IS ON A NEW ACFT AND THIS WAS HIS FIRST LNDG AT DEN AND IT WAS AT NIGHT. APPARENTLY THE FAC DOES NOT USE TXWY EC FROM THE DIRECTION HE WAS TAXIING VERY OFTEN. HE FEELS THEY STILL MUST HAVE A HOLD SHORT LINE AT RWY 35L. WHAT THE CTLR EXPECTED WAS FOR HIM TO REMAIN ON TXWY P7 AND CONTINUE TAXI TO TXWY ED. THAT WAY THE ACFT DOES NOT HAVE TO CROSS ANY RWY GETTING TO THE RAMP. NEITHER HIS FO NOR THE JUMP SEAT RIDER SAW ANY HOLD LINE EITHER. THE TWR MUST NOT HAVE FELT HE WAS ONTO THE RWY AS NOTHING WAS SAID. HIS MAIN CONCERN IS WHETHER THERE IS A HOLD LINE OR NOT. IF NOT, THERE SHOULD BE, BUT HE IS CONCERNED THAT OTHERS MIGHT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE.
