Narrative:

Crew briefed special approach airspeed restrs associated with arrival into gdl. At approximately 22 DME from gdl, passing through 13000 ft, we erred in not slowing to 250 KTS. Approach asked us how fast we were going and I answered honestly 300 KTS. We were in fact already starting to slow. First officer was flying approach and I had gotten my attention diverted by setting up and identing approach frequencys and completing checklist.
