Narrative:

Descended to FL240. Received descent clearance to cross shine intersection on clt arrival. Captain's sliding window popped and appeared delaminated. It appeared that the outer layer had separated from aircraft. Consulted QRH. Landed without incident. After landing, confirmed that the outer layer did separate from window. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that when on the ground, maintenance inspected the window and discovered the entire outer pane was missing. The reporter said the window had no obvious defects on the preflight check and nothing to indicate delamination or disbonding of the panes. The reporter states the window heat was on and functioning normally. The reporter said the aircraft and engines were checked for damage or ingestion and none found.
