Narrative:

We were cruising at 8000 ft. The flight attendant came into the cockpit and asked us what we wanted. As this was happening, the captain was talking to her and ATC (allentown approach) called for us to descend down to 5000 ft. I acknowledged the clearance. Then the flight attendant asked me what I wanted to drink. We went 10 mi at 8000 ft, and abe approach control asked us why we didn't go down to 5000 ft. Supplemental information from acn 431172: I was receiving my coffee from the flight attendant and didn't acknowledged the clearance by setting it in altitude select box or by verifying with the first officer. As a result, ATC asked us to descend to 5000 ft and gave us a vector.
