ATC gave us cross flo VOR at 11000 ft. At 32 DME from flo, ATC gave and we read back, 'left 30 degrees, descend and maintain 10000 ft.' 4 mins later ATC, 'say altitude.' we said, '10000 ft.' ATC said he 'gave us 11000 ft.' we asked if he wanted us to climb to 11000 ft. He said, 'no, maintain 10000 ft.' we asked if he wanted us to call him. He said, 'no.'
