Narrative:
In the interest of time, I elected not to file an IFR flight plan since I was late for an appointment. I departed lal en route to mlb. I was using a current low altitude en route chart to navigation from lal to mlb. The chart depicts the orl class B airspace along V441 from lal to mlb to begin at 6000 ft. I was cruising at 5500 ft along V441. When I was due south of kissimmee, fl, I noticed I seemed closer to mco airport than I thought I should be, so I asked the local approach controller as to the veil of the class B airspace in the area. I also pulled out the VFR chart. They both confirmed that the floor of the class B was 3000 ft. I descended immediately to 2500 ft and told the controller of my error. He said not to worry and just be careful, this was a new change to the area. He indicated there would not be a violation.

I ALSO PULLED OUT THE VFR CHART. THEY BOTH CONFIRMED THAT THE FLOOR OF THE CLASS B WAS 3000 FT. I DSNDED IMMEDIATELY TO 2500 FT AND TOLD THE CTLR OF MY ERROR. HE SAID NOT TO WORRY AND JUST BE CAREFUL, THIS WAS A NEW CHANGE TO THE AREA. HE INDICATED THERE WOULD NOT BE A VIOLATION.
