Narrative:

Ground control cleared us to taxi to runway 23L intersection west. Due to snow partially obscuring marking, and having seen other aircraft taxiing to this same runway using my eventual taxi route, I mistook the taxi instructions. I mistakenly used taxiway U, which then connects with runway 28 to proceed to runway 23L. Ground stopped me and had me do a 180 degree turn and proceed with his intended taxi route. No traffic conflict ensued. Cle continues to have confusing markings and intersecting txwys and runways. The taxi routing I used is frequently used in cle which made it easier for me to think I was using the correct procedure.
