Narrative:

During an instrument departure (gon) off of runway 5, the PF initiated a right turn at approximately 500 ft AGL. After initiating the turn, the gon tower advised us that noise abatement procedures were in effect. The captain rolled out of the turn and continued the climb to the assigned altitude. The tower handed us over to departure control who issued further altitude and heading assignments with no further incidents. During the flight back, I asked the captain about the noise abatement issue, and he was not aware of any noise abatement procedure in effect. I was the PNF on this flight. I did find a notice for noise abatement procedures in the airport facility directory after the fact.
