We headed out to runway. Passenger were informed we had a mechanical. We went back to gate. After arrival at gate, passenger started to move forward to speak to the agent. I started going forward to get an unaccompanied minor who had gotten up and headed to the mid lavatory. I didn't want him getting off the plane, so I went to bring him to the back of aircraft with me. While I was in the aisle trying to get to the child, a male identing himself as a flight attendant told me the #2 flight attendant in the rear was being verbally battered by a male passenger. I turned around to see the passenger heading towards me so I knew he had stopped being abusive to flight attendant #2. He said he needed to talk to me. He was quite excited. I told him I needed to get the unaccompanied boy and I would help him. I got the boy, sent him to the back. The man started yelling about the situation (delay) and how he didn't feel the #2 flight attendant was sympathetic to his demands. He was angry that we didn't know about the mechanical before we left the gate and he wanted to be compensated for the delay time, which at that time was only 15 mins. I took him up to the captain and went to the back of the aircraft to see if #2 flight attendant was upset and we did a juice service. This passenger felt that he should be given a free ticket because he was being inconvenienced by this delay. P.south. I found out that he did get a free ticket.

Title: FLT ATTENDANT RPT REGARDING A B757 WHICH HAD MECHANICAL PROBS ON TAXI OUT. BECAUSE OF DELAY, A PAX BECAME UNRULY AND HARASSED A FLT ATTENDANT.
Narrative: WE HEADED OUT TO RWY. PAX WERE INFORMED WE HAD A MECHANICAL. WE WENT BACK TO GATE. AFTER ARR AT GATE, PAX STARTED TO MOVE FORWARD TO SPEAK TO THE AGENT. I STARTED GOING FORWARD TO GET AN UNACCOMPANIED MINOR WHO HAD GOTTEN UP AND HEADED TO THE MID LAVATORY. I DIDN'T WANT HIM GETTING OFF THE PLANE, SO I WENT TO BRING HIM TO THE BACK OF ACFT WITH ME. WHILE I WAS IN THE AISLE TRYING TO GET TO THE CHILD, A MALE IDENTING HIMSELF AS A FLT ATTENDANT TOLD ME THE #2 FLT ATTENDANT IN THE REAR WAS BEING VERBALLY BATTERED BY A MALE PAX. I TURNED AROUND TO SEE THE PAX HEADING TOWARDS ME SO I KNEW HE HAD STOPPED BEING ABUSIVE TO FLT ATTENDANT #2. HE SAID HE NEEDED TO TALK TO ME. HE WAS QUITE EXCITED. I TOLD HIM I NEEDED TO GET THE UNACCOMPANIED BOY AND I WOULD HELP HIM. I GOT THE BOY, SENT HIM TO THE BACK. THE MAN STARTED YELLING ABOUT THE SIT (DELAY) AND HOW HE DIDN'T FEEL THE #2 FLT ATTENDANT WAS SYMPATHETIC TO HIS DEMANDS. HE WAS ANGRY THAT WE DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE MECHANICAL BEFORE WE LEFT THE GATE AND HE WANTED TO BE COMPENSATED FOR THE DELAY TIME, WHICH AT THAT TIME WAS ONLY 15 MINS. I TOOK HIM UP TO THE CAPT AND WENT TO THE BACK OF THE ACFT TO SEE IF #2 FLT ATTENDANT WAS UPSET AND WE DID A JUICE SVC. THIS PAX FELT THAT HE SHOULD BE GIVEN A FREE TICKET BECAUSE HE WAS BEING INCONVENIENCED BY THIS DELAY. P.S. I FOUND OUT THAT HE DID GET A FREE TICKET.
