Narrative:

#2 flight attendant was in galley setting up beverage cart. I was standing at aft door with stairs when I heard 4 chimes. I picked up interphone and heard captain say 'I want #1 flight attendant in the cockpit now.' the initial chime was 2 with a delayed time period, followed by 2 more chimes -- hence reason for picking up phone. When I heard his request, I told #2 flight attendant what had transpired and that I was going up front. The #1 flight attendant said we lost oil pressure and an engine was being shut down and we were going back. No need to evacuate/evacuation or prepare for one. If something should happen on landing, captain would announce 'easy victor.' landing was excellent. We went to fat, ca, instead of sjc, ca.
