Narrative:

Captain exercised emergency authority/authorized to divert to airport not on planned release (tpa). Flight planned cle-srq with rsw as alternate. WX at 3400 ft broken srq as flight descended through 10000 ft on arrival. WX dropped to 1/4 mi before flight landed. ATC told captain that WX was as bad at planned alternate (rsw). Captain diverted to tpa without notifying dispatch for re- release. Dispatch was notified by station operations at tpa as flight arrived. Dispatcher contacted captain to request report of deviation via irregularity report to company flight operations division.

Title: COMPANY DISPATCHER OF AN MLG HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED BY THE FLC THAT THEY HAD LANDED AT A DIFFERENT ALTERNATE ARPT OTHER THAN ARPTS DESIGNATED IN THE DISPATCH FLT RELEASE DUE TO WX AT BOTH ARPTS GOING BELOW WX MINIMUMS. THE RPTR LEARNED OF THE FLT'S LOCATION FROM THE STATION AGENTS WHERE THE ACFT LANDED.
