Narrative:
Departing grand prairie, tx, I contacted dfw departure stating off grand prairie en route to conroe, tx. I was assigned a squawk code. I reported at 3500 ft climbing to 5500 ft. The controller called back, asked if I was aware that I was in class B airspace and to descend to 3500 ft, which I did immediately. I then realized that I had not been cleared to climb to my requested altitude of 5500 ft and had inadvertently started to climb before being cleared to do so.

Narrative: DEPARTING GRAND PRAIRIE, TX, I CONTACTED DFW DEP STATING OFF GRAND PRAIRIE ENRTE TO CONROE, TX. I WAS ASSIGNED A SQUAWK CODE. I RPTED AT 3500 FT CLBING TO 5500 FT. THE CTLR CALLED BACK, ASKED IF I WAS AWARE THAT I WAS IN CLASS B AIRSPACE AND TO DSND TO 3500 FT, WHICH I DID IMMEDIATELY. I THEN REALIZED THAT I HAD NOT BEEN CLRED TO CLB TO MY REQUESTED ALT OF 5500 FT AND HAD INADVERTENTLY STARTED TO CLB BEFORE BEING CLRED TO DO SO.
