Narrative:

Missed turn during taxi. After landing on runway 17L tower directed taxi over er bridge and hold short of runway 17C at taxiway a. First officer read back directions but captain missed the part about taxiway a. First officer was cleaning up after landing checklist and changing to directed frequency as turn to north was passed. Subsequent tower controller (126.55) asked if we missed turn. Reply was affirmative, is that problem? Answer: well, yes. No conflict with other traffic or difficulty of any type was observed by aircrew, and frequency traffic was too busy for controller to explain his problem.
