Narrative:

My airline has a scheduled preflight inspection done by our mechanics on a 30 hour schedule. Normal procedure is to call in remaining hours till preflight is due. I took over the airplane at abc airport. The preceding crew did not call in the times. I was PIC for the flight, and when reviewing the logbook before the flight I did not notice the aircraft was due for a preflight inspection by .2 hours. I took the plane (with passenger) to ZZZ, where the plane terminated for the day. I totaled the logbook times, and discovered that the airplane was overdue for inspection. I called maintenance and was able to correct the situation by performing the inspection myself, and noting all paperwork of such action.
