Narrative:

Tail compartment temperature high light came on during climb out. Went out when throttles closed. Returned to pbi and landed at approximately 137000 pounds (maximum gross landing weight 130000 pounds). Maintenance found blown seal on right air-conditioning pack heat exchanger. I was concerned about airworthiness of aircraft. For this reason I elected not to complete the prescribed procedure, but to immediately close throttles (after warning light went from intermittent to steady) and return to pbi for landing.
