Narrative:

Approach was to the wrong 1 of 2 closely spaced airports with similar runway configns. Intended airport was cdw, approach was to mmu. When cdw tower couldn't locate me he helped by talking me through my location, for a prompt correction. A large airport identifier at the airports would help prevent what must be a relatively common occurrence.

Narrative: APCH WAS TO THE WRONG 1 OF 2 CLOSELY SPACED ARPTS WITH SIMILAR RWY CONFIGNS. INTENDED ARPT WAS CDW, APCH WAS TO MMU. WHEN CDW TWR COULDN'T LOCATE ME HE HELPED BY TALKING ME THROUGH MY LOCATION, FOR A PROMPT CORRECTION. A LARGE ARPT IDENTIFIER AT THE ARPTS WOULD HELP PREVENT WHAT MUST BE A RELATIVELY COMMON OCCURRENCE.
