Narrative:

I was going into gai and had requested the DME VOR runway 14 GPS approach. The controller said, 'cleared for VOR 14 GPS approach.' while I was on the GPS approach, the controller asked if I showed myself on the approach. I said, 'yes.' he asked, 'what approach?' I told him the fix I was going to. He said he didn't have that fix on his approach plate. After some comparison we found out that he had government plate and I had commercial plate and his government plates didn't have an approach for DME VOR runway 14 RNAV-GPS. What he had was VOR runway 14 GPS. I had the commercial plate and the approach was also in my current kln-90B GPS.
