Narrative:

After exiting the high speed from lax runway 25L, the captain brought the plane to a stop behind an air carrier Y B757. Lax tower cleared both of us to cross runway 25R. I acknowledged the clearance 'air carrier XXXX cleared across runway 25R.' the captain and I were not aware that an air carrier Z DC9 had been given takeoff clearance. After we crossed the hold line, lax tower directed us to hold short of runway 25R. Air carrier was still on the runway and we were behind air carrier Y. I acknowledged that we were already on the runway. Lax tower canceled takeoff clearance for the air carrier Z on the takeoff roll. Air carrier Z aborted and exited runway 25R. I believe that lax tower was expecting air carrier Y and us to clear runway 25R quicker than we did. This reduced the spacing between air carrier Z and us, causing the abort.

Title: TWR CTLR AMENDED TAXI INSTRUCTIONS TO RPTR IN A B737-300 IN FOLLOWING A B757 ACROSS A PARALLEL RWY AFTER LNDG WHEN THE RWY WAS NOT CLR WHEN ANOTHER ACR IN A DC9 HAD BEEN CLRED FOR TKOF. TWR SUBSEQUENTLY ISSUED ABORT INSTRUCTIONS TO THE DC9.

Narrative: AFTER EXITING THE HIGH SPD FROM LAX RWY 25L, THE CAPT BROUGHT THE PLANE TO A STOP BEHIND AN ACR Y B757. LAX TWR CLRED BOTH OF US TO CROSS RWY 25R. I ACKNOWLEDGED THE CLRNC 'ACR XXXX CLRED ACROSS RWY 25R.' THE CAPT AND I WERE NOT AWARE THAT AN ACR Z DC9 HAD BEEN GIVEN TKOF CLRNC. AFTER WE CROSSED THE HOLD LINE, LAX TWR DIRECTED US TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 25R. ACR WAS STILL ON THE RWY AND WE WERE BEHIND ACR Y. I ACKNOWLEDGED THAT WE WERE ALREADY ON THE RWY. LAX TWR CANCELED TKOF CLRNC FOR THE ACR Z ON THE TKOF ROLL. ACR Z ABORTED AND EXITED RWY 25R. I BELIEVE THAT LAX TWR WAS EXPECTING ACR Y AND US TO CLR RWY 25R QUICKER THAN WE DID. THIS REDUCED THE SPACING BTWN ACR Z AND US, CAUSING THE ABORT.
